Abstract

The article examines the possibilities of applying artificial intelligence technologies in archival activities in the context of the digital transformation of the archival sector. The relevance of the study is обусловлена тем, что the implementation of intelligent technologies is not limited to technical solutions, but requires the formation of a comprehensive digital environment that includes structured archival data, a developed information infrastructure, and professionally trained personnel. The aim of the study is to determine the conditions for the effective implementation of artificial intelligence in the archives of Kazakhstan in the context of enhancing interaction between archival institutions and society. The methodological framework of the research is based on the analysis of scientific literature, comparative analysis, and a systems approach. The results of the study demonstrate that the application of artificial intelligence depends on the level of digital maturity of the archival system. It has been established that the effective implementation of intelligent technologies is determined by a set of interrelated conditions, including the digitization of archival collections, the availability of machine-readable and standardized metadata, the development of a sustainable information and technological infrastructure, and the training of specialists with relevant professional competencies. In addition, it is substantiated that the use of artificial intelligence contributes not only to the optimization of internal archival processes but also to the expansion of public access to archival heritage. From an applied perspective, a phased model for training archival professionals is proposed, aimed at developing digital, analytical, and technological competencies. The results of the study can be used in developing strategies for the digital transformation and modernization of the archival system of Kazakhstan.
